About the Community

San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood — now officially designated as SoMa Pilipinas, the Philippine Cultural Heritage District — represents a historic victory for Filipino-American community advocates who fought to preserve and celebrate the neighborhood's deep Filipino roots.
